Guido (1974) started playing alto saxophone at the age of twelve. He studied alto and tenor saxophone at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague with teachers Jan Menu and John Ruocco, but plays the soprano and baritone sax as well. After the Conservatory he studied with the famous Yellowjackets saxophone player, Bob Mintzer, in New York.
Besides live performer, Guido is also a studio musician and writer/arranger and works with bands like BEEF!, The JazzInvaders and The Special Request Horns.
He shared the stage with musicians such as: Michael Brecker, Louis Mlanga, Maria Schneider, Frank Foster, Roy Hargrove, Terry Bozzio, Bob Mintzer, Lionel Richie, Leon Ware, Diana Ross, Candy Dulfer, etc, and played at places such as the wellkown North Sea Jazzfestival, Blue Balls Festival, the Grahamstown Arts Festival, The Blue Note, The Jazzhouse.
